Trust and safety
Trust is the whole product.
A line spot only matters if the person holding it is actually there, actually who they say they are, and actually hands it off. Here's how we make sure.
Vetting.
Every StandIn passes identity verification and a live interview with our team before their first job. During the pilot, our founder personally reviews every application.
Transparency.
Your StandIn checks in when they arrive and texts you updates while they wait, so you always know the line is really held. You are never guessing.
Payments.
$25/hour, $25 minimum, capped at $99. You only pay once a StandIn has accepted your line — never before, and never if we can't cover it. Standard card processing, we never see or store your card number ourselves.
If something goes wrong.
If a StandIn doesn't show, loses the spot, or the job doesn't happen as described, you get a full refund. Email or text us and a human resolves it, usually same day. During the pilot we would rather refund fast and learn than argue.
Respecting venues.
StandIns wait like anyone else waits: politely, without blocking, following staff instructions. If a venue prohibits spot holding, we don't take the booking. We're not affiliated with any of the venues our customers love, and we intend to keep being welcome on their sidewalks.
For StandIns.
Safety runs both directions. StandIns can decline any job, get support by text during every job, and report any customer behavior. Workers who feel safe show up, and StandIns who show up are the entire business.
